May Art Walk

Santa Ana's May exhibition spotlights Jenni Frank, a photographer-poet whose work dissolves the boundary between image and verse; Frank layers intimate, found moments with fragments of handwritten poetry, producing photographs that read like memory poems and poems that look like weathered snapshots. Her restrained palette and meticulous composition invite slow looking, while the embedded texts — sometimes legible, sometimes tantalizingly partial — create narrative gaps that viewers are compelled to fill. Together, photograph and verse map personal and collective terrains: urban edges, domestic interiors, and the quiet gestures that accrue meaning over time. The resulting bodies of work are at once elegiac and quietly witty, offering Santa Ana audiences a rare, contemplative experience in which language and light negotiate new forms of intimacy.
